TWO KINDS OF UNBELIEF.
Posted by Robert Bagonza on Sunday, September 26, 2010
Summary:
It’s very important to God that we believe His Word. When we don’t believe, He sees it as disobedience. Many people today are slow to believe God. They are not easily persuaded, if at all. Then there are those who believe on the surface, but not in their hearts. However, no matter the reason for unbelief, God’s blessings are blocked in their lives
1. There are two kinds of unbelief.
1. There is unbelief based on a lack of knowledge.
1. There are those who haven't heard the Word, therefore they don't believe.
2. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
2. There is unbelief in which a person is not persuaded to act.
1. The fearful and unbelieving will inherit the lake that burns with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8).
2. Fear is contaminated faith.
3. The Israelites did not enter into God's place of rest because of their unbelief (Hebrews 4:6).
1. Unbelief and disobedience are connected.
2. When someone is in unbelief, God's blessings are blocked in that person's life.
3. Let us labor to enter into that rest and not follow the example of the Israelites (Hebrews 4:11).
2. Believing is an act of your will.
1. A person who only agrees mentally will agree only when life is comfortable.
1. When the going gets rough, they no longer believe.
2. God's Word is true no matter what is happening in the world.
2. There will always be problems, challenges, and many battles.
1. You can't allow those things to cause you to doubt God.
2. The Word of God has to be the final authority in your life.
3. Do not remain in unforgiveness.
4. Get around faith people.
3. When there is trouble brewing in your life, remember that God has given you the power and authority to have the victory (Luke 10:19).
1. Speak the Word of God; use it as a weapon against the kingdom of darkness.
1. Decide to believe God and expect manifestation of what He said (Acts 27:25).
2. Think about the many battles God has fought for you.
3. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
