Summary:

God has a purpose for all things. When Jesus was crucified, they nailed His hands to the cross. The blood that flowed from His hands signified our freedom from the curse of poverty. The blood flow also released the blessing of abundant life upon Believers.

  1. The Five Points of Victory from which Jesus’ blood flowed included:
    1. His back, which endured the stripes needed to bring about our healing.
    2. His head, which bore the crown of thorns.
    3. His hands, which were nailed to the cross.
      1. The hands are a symbol of our economic strength and capability (Genesis 43:12).
      2. God blesses the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 28:8-12, Deuteronomy 12:7, 8).
    4. His feet, which were nailed to the cross.
    5. His side, which was pierced by a Roman soldier.
  2. When Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, he caused a curse to come upon all mankind, as well as the ground (Genesis 3:17, 18).
    1. Adam’s sin (disobedience) also separated him from the Father and His provision.
      1. Poverty became a major consequence of the fall of man.
      2. When we are in disobedience, we are in rebellion, and the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
      3. Satan, through the media, has convinced people that money is inherently evil.
      4. Many people believe that poverty is God’s way of teaching us a lesson.
      5. Poverty is a curse that is designed to destroy our lives (Deuteronomy 28:15-31, Proverbs 10:15, 1 Peter 5:8).
      6. The curse involves more than just a lack of money. It also involves attitude and integrity.
      7. Laziness activates the curse of poverty (Proverbs 6:9-11).
  3. Jesus died for us so that we may be empowered to succeed.
    1. Being blessed means having an empowerment to succeed in every area of life.
      1. A blessed life is a life in which everything we touch does well.
