Summary:

Faith is the conquering power that brings the world to its knees. Faith is confidence in God’s Word. Bible faith is supernatural and believes what
it does not see. It is the evidence of what you have not yet seen come
to pass.

  1. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is faith (1 John 5:4, The Message).
    1. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1).
    2. Faith is the warranty deed; the evidence that what you hope for is a reality in the unseen realm.
      1. There is a natural human faith, but Bible faith is supernatural. It grasps the unrealities of hope and brings them into reality.
        1. Hope is the blueprint for what you believe, but faith “fills” hope with substance.
      2. Faith in God is faith in the Word.
      3. Mental assent is not the same as faith.
        1. You can mentally agree with the Word, but until you believe it with your heart and have an inner image of the Word coming to pass in your life, faith is not really in operation.

  2. You must believe what you say will come to pass when you pray (Mark 11:23, 24).
    1. Believe you receive.
    2. Faith does not have to have the senses agree with it to confirm it is done.
    3. The receiving comes after the believing.

  3. Do not have “Thomas” faith.
    1. Thomas had to see to believe, but Jesus says those who believe without seeing anything are empowered to prosper (John 20:24-29).
      1. Real faith is built on the Word, not what we can perceive with our five physical senses (Romans 4:17).
