DEVELOPING TRUST IN GOD (Part 2)

Summary:
Trusting God leads to a life filled with blessings. However, we must learn to
completely lean and rely on Him. Trusting God must be more than a
religious saying or cliché; we have to live a life that demonstrates
our trust in Him.
- Blessed are those who trust the Lord; they are empowered to succeed (Jeremiah 17:7, Psalm 34:8, Proverbs 11:28).
- Trusting in man brings a curse (Jeremiah 17:5).
- To be cursed is to be empowered to fail; to be blessed is to be empowered to succeed.
- We, who trust God are like Mount Zion; we cannot be moved (Psalm 125:1-3).
- The wicked will not have authority over the Believer who knows his or her authority.
- The enemy may try to move us, but will fail. God will surround us with His protection and love.
- Trusting in man brings a curse (Jeremiah 17:5).
- The rich young ruler trusted more in His riches than in God (Mark 10:17-24).
- This man turned down the opportunity to become one of Jesus’ disciples because he did not want to lose his possessions.
- When we trust God, we will not fear (Matthew 6:31, Psalm 112:7-10).
- Our hearts will be established in His promises.
- Many people trust their money or possessions more than God.
- Are there things in your life you trust more than God?
- We must not trust in uncertain riches, but place our complete trust in God who gives us all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17, Job
31:24).
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5).
- Can God trust you with money?
- Can He trust you to properly manage the resources He has given you? (Luke 16:11)
- This man turned down the opportunity to become one of Jesus’ disciples because he did not want to lose his possessions.
- The Lord will answer you in the day of trouble (Psalm 20:1-9, AMP).
- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego refused to bow down to another god (Daniel 3:17, 18).
- They knew God would save them and proclaimed that even if He did not save them, they would not bow down to the king’s false god.
- This is a great example of true, godly commitment and trust. Trust is an expression of commitment.
